The terrors of blogging and faith before fear.

Well, as you can see, it's been a while since I blogged. I am hopeful that I will be more consistent now that I have revamped the website. The biggest challenge has been ... what do I have to say that could possibly add to the millions of voices already out there? For those of you who know me well, you are probably laughing. I'm not often at a loss for words. :) However, talking to a friend face to face versus actually sharing something on the internet are quite different things to my mind. Once you put something out 'there' it's 'out there' forever. So, my cautious introverted side often kicks and screams that I shouldn't get too personal or share what's on my mind, I mean nobody really wants to know anyway, surely someone else can say it better or ... well, you get the drift. So I stuck with things that interested me, but weren't really part of my life. The problem was that required research which took away from my writing time or my dog time or my cat time (and you know how they can be!) or my stained glass time. Or dare I say time spent with my amazing husband. So that became my excuse not to pursue blogging. However, as is often the case, eventually I had to stop long enough to listen. And what I heard was "Faith before fear." Boy, did that  apply to a lot of things in my life. (As usual God's message was timely) So, after applying the message to several other problems that had been plaguing my existence (more on those later) I was pondering the revamping of my website when it hit me. I can share about those things. The things that inspire me in my day to day life and also the things that have helped me. Like my faith, which is a constant source of comfort in an often uncomfortable world. Or my dogs ... who inspire me daily with their tail wagging, tongue lolling, happy to be alive because we woke up and now we're goin' for a walk kind of attitude. Or to starting a stained glass project that I think will work one way only to have it become something completely different (yes, a nod to Monty Python). Not always better, mind you, but different. I learn from those projects and am inspired to try a different process. And of course, my writing challenges and my writing partners who inspire me and challenge me to 'show' don't 'tell'. More description, or who said that? I'm confused, please rewrite that last bit. Yes, really, they do say all that and it's wonderful because in the end I have a better novel.
So, I will be blogging again. And all of those topics will be included. There will be a dog blog-which might include some cat or horse stories (shh-don't tell the dogs), a stained glass blog and a writing blog. However, the theme that will run through them all will be faith and inspiration. Because for me, after all, I must continue to learn faith before fear or anything else that infringes on living a creative, inspired life.
