My mind is always a jumble of thoughts going helter skelter with no apparent direction. I am one of those people who begin to tell you one story and ends up forgetting what I started to say because I am off on some other tangent.
It must be hard for God to get my attention. I am always rushing about, being busy. A friend of mine says we are great “human doers” and not such great “human beings”. Do you ever feel that way? My mornings are spent getting ready for work, showering, feeding the dogs and cats while the mix master is going, the hair dryer blowing, out the door, dogs atttached. Noise is every where in my day. I work in a Veterinary Hospital where the phones are ringing, dogs barking, cats meowing or yowling if they’re mad! Sometimes though, there is a quiet moment. Maybe in the morning as I think about the day ahead or as I am gazing out the window and watching the sunrise. Sometimes it is at night just before I turn off the lights. Or in the middle of the day when I am driving to work or pulling weeds from the garden. It is during those moments that the Lord speaks. I am often thinking of something-a question or problem that puzzles me-and God brings to my mind a simple sentence that answers all the questions I have been pondering. Like a single drop of water into a huge vat of water. A bit of wisdom drops into the stillness of a moment. Do you have moments like that?
